Chris O'Neill

Chris leads Google’s operations in Canada. Mr. O’Neill is responsible for forging strong relationships with the Canadian advertising and media agency community, driving digital growth and enhancing digital understanding across the country. Two of his main priorities are to build Google’s brand and fuel Canadian business growth through innovation.

Mr. O’Neill returns home to Canada with over fifteen years of marketing, strategy, media and partnership development experience. Most recently, he served as Director of Retail for Google’s US operations, demonstrating excellence in innovation and partnership development. During his tenure at Google, he has assumed a variety of sales and operations leadership roles within consumer-oriented verticals.

Prior to Google, Mr. O'Neill worked at HSBC with P&L responsibility for a consumer finance line of business, and was a management consultant at Mercer Management Consulting. He started his career on the floor of his family’s Canadian Tire store.

Mr. O'Neill received a BA (with distinction) in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He sits on the board of Shop.org, the digital marketing arm of the National Retail Federation and is a Charter Member of the C100, a non-profit, member-driven organization dedicated to supporting Canadian technology entrepreneurship and investment.

Chris lives in Toronto with his wife and their two children.
